2009 Chevy Camaro

Badass! This is what American Muscle used to be about. Hopefully the American Car industry can get back to this.

GM has a viable competitor in the mid-size offerings in the Chevy Malibu. They need to do a better job of marketing the Malibu performance, options, and price advantage. Holding back on this Camaro until 2010 will do them no harm.
I continue to be confused by most of the product line decisions made by American vehicle makers but none of their miss-judgments surpass Ford's move in discontinuing the Aerostar Van sold from 1986 to 1997. It was the absolute ultimate in a mini van in style, versatility, durability, price range, and even offered the choice of full-time all-wheel drive.
Ford replaced that winner with the sorry-ass Windstar knock off of the Chrysler van and quietly watched while van buyers changed over to imports, as Chevy had previously done to the buyers of family sedans.
The current buying trend is toward more fuel-efficient vehicles, presenting a new opportunity for the American big three to screw up one more time.
Just read in several automotive publications today there's rumors coming out of Chevrolet......talk of (again) delaying the Camaro's release until 2010
The concept car was done in 2005-06....first slated to be a 2007 model.....then changed to 2008.....the huge product placement promotional campaign with The Tranformers movie to coincide with it's release soon after the movie's debut......another delay....2009 release....now, probably 2010.
I think Chevy is milking the hype of the Camaro for all it can get....but cares little about getting it on the road....because it won't be a profit maker....it's a special interest car..an image car....not a mass seller.
After all, if Chevy's so gung-ho dedicated to the Camaro....why did they kill it (and the Firebird/Trans-Am) in the first place. Bringing it back just a few years later doesn't say "We take pride in what we build""......it say's "Oops, we fu**ed-up!"
And, the gas crisis, and GM's financial troubles are just going to add to the difficulty of actually getting the Camaro in full production and to the showrooms.....If it doesn't get shelved alltogether.....it'll probably end up in severely limited production, and over-priced into Corvette territory....making it out of reach to most buyers, and ultimately, a sales failure.
I love my Chevies.....my OLD Chevies.....not a big fan of the company now....it still makes good cars, but managment has been making some pretty big bonehead decisions lately......it shows in the desperate situation they're in now.
Well, it's the middle of '08, the new Stangs have been out for 3 years, and have added new versions (Shelby GT, Shelby GT500 & GT500KR, and a new Bullitt edition) the new Dodge Challenger (Hemi R/T and Hemi SRT8) has made it's debut, and are now in the showrroms and on the road.......still no sign of the Camaro, and Chevrolet isn't even talking about when they're due to hit the showrooms (ask at most dealerships, they don't know)
Was hoping to see them this summer,....but not holding my breath
Jeffw is right, the '67 came out in the summer of '66.Just like this 2009 will come out in 2008!#15 is a retard,it was named in 1963,the year model always comes out the year before you dip fucking shit!!!

b.t.w. - Insurance companies will love this car and maybe even give discounts to buyers. The $400 light clusters are GONE, front and rear.
