Actually, I just got curious about it, so I googled it. And I thought that it might be interesting to those who wouldn't bother to, or have the time to look it up.

RJ. Dude. Honestly. The extent of your research is most unnecessary. As trustworthy person, I also tend to trust people and ususally not second guess them about things I have little knowledge in, i.e. Bigfoot, the NAWRF, the 1970's and deer. And I shudder to think about it but I gather from your comment you did not detect the obvious sarcasm in comment #1. This saddens me as I believe I laid the sarcasm on rather thickly.

I think RIVER got caught in the trap! Here's what I found about it:

The trap was constructed, according to forest service records, when a short-lived group dubbed "the North American Wildlife Research firm" applied for a special use permit in the early 1970s. They would hang a deer carcass or something real stinky inside, and the critter was supposed to go in after it. When he pulled on the bait, the door would come down, setting off an alarm.

The supposed Bigfoot who has eluded mankind for numerous years fell victim to the poorly constructed trap created by an high-school educated woodsman.
