Speaking of candles and intelligence. Anyone think that House of Wax with Paris Hilton was a great movie? ;D
I've been saying all along that snaps/lumra is the place to be. No site on the internet can hold a candle to the intelligence here.
Why don't we simply move the Earth instead. It is smaller and would be less difficult to move. Seems like a no brainer.
No, they're not going to outlaw daylight, but they are planning to move the sun 4.36 million miles further away from the earth.
They're not really gonna outlaw daylight altogether are they?
Ever since they changed our local time zone back in the '80's we've been, when compared to solar time, on daylight savings even in the winter. In the summer we are on double daylight savings. It doesn't bother me because the concept of "morning" is rather foreign to me, but I've heard a lot of parents bitching as SF suggested.
I just moved across the street where it's always later in the day.
LOL, Bo! Maybe I should start watching it! :D
The one thing they keep saying about DST, is that we get another hour of daylight! The fools didn't say one thing about the extra hour of darkness in the morning! I'm surprised all the Moms didn't gripe about their kids having to wait for the school bus in the dark!
haha SF. My favorite moment on B & the G was when a beauty was asked what type of screwdriver was pictured. She responded, 'there's different types of screwdrivers?'.
Their occupations are always classic too. Tanning salon administrator, beer tub girl, aspiring playboy centerfold, hooters waitress......
Personally, I don't like Daylight Savings Time, for a couple of reasons. As SeaFox knows, Indiana just recently started to observe it. Naturally, people from Indiana now think of it as a hassle. Also, with the extension or the observation period, at least in the US, there are only a few months out of the year that aren't on DST. Why even change the clock at that point? Just leave them on one time.
Bo, I never have watched that show, but I saw the start of one of them, where they asked the girl what her IQ was! She promply answered- "C"! Then she said, Oh wait! It's 3.9! I thought- "It sure is sweety!"
Great comments twodogs and Khan. Made me laugh.
btw, anyone follow Big Brother in the US this summer?
The shrill from N'awlins was particularily dense during a time zone conversation.
I also like Beauty and the Geek for the low IQ of the beauties. Must See TV.
The truly frightening thing is that not only can this person vote, they can probably run for office. She also forgot to mention that the extra hour of sunlight helps fade the curtains.
During my Air Force days I knew a girl in the military police squadron.
Upon arriving at her new duty station in Germany she called her mother, who asked "Does the sun still rise in the East over there?"
My friend did not know the answer.
Did I mention her job involved carrying a loaded gun?
Daylight Savings time is a deviation from Standard Time (Time Zones) which is a deviation from Mean Solar time (Local Clock time) which is a deviation of True Solar Time (Sundial time).
A few countries stayed on "God's time" until recently. I think that Saudi Arabia was still on "Allah's time" (solar time) until less than a decade ago. That must have been a hell of a patch for the Saudi Microsoft XP's desktop clock!
When my parents lived in Afghanistan half a century ago (my sister was born there and I'm always nervous going through U.S. passport control with her), there was a huge cannon on a hill over Kabul that was fired every day at noon. One day Mom and Dad decided to hike up there to watch the ceremony. Unfortunately the climb was a bit more strenuous than anticipated, and Mom was having some real problems, so she urged Dad to go ahead and get some good pictures. He hustled up to the top and chatted with the cannoneers as they waited for high noon. They learned of the belated betrothed and noon was delayed for a few minutes that day so she could attend.
Years ago when Daylight Saving Time began, some dingbats were against it because it wasn't "God's time"!
My folks told of a woman who would say "I'll be glad when we get back to God's time!".
Brought to you by the same people that think the Earth is flat, the Moon landing was fake, WTC was a controlled demolition, and FIandB has a human heart! :p
i love daylight savings time, i love the extension and i'm sorry to see it now getting dark at 5:30pm :(

"Candle on the Water" is a song from Walt Disney Picture's live action/animation film Pete's Dragon. It is sung by Helen Reddy, who plays Nora in the film, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song. The setting for the song is entirely on the lantern room balcony of the lighthouse in which Nora and her father, Lampey, live.
