Sundin - Here (130 miles SE of you) we had light rain most of the day. Then sleet. Now some snow.
Ill take that over being plastered. (weather wise, that is ;-)
We were plastered here in Toronto today! Pure chaos.. I love it.
Just been out with the dogs to the field (its 23:15 here) and its all snowy!!!!! Still snowing too....
Sounds like my last road trip. My Office Manager reserved my hotel for me before I left. I didn't even get out of the truck, just turned around and drove until I found a Holiday Inn Express. When there is a homeless guy sleeping under the bullet scarred lobby window, you know it's not even a middle class place.
Its the only place where I stay in the hotel and don't go out to find a good pub!! Might get the mad cook screaming 'lets be avin you' at me!! ;-)
...and the people there have webbed hands and feet ;P
Its started snowing in Norwich! Windy too. Better not get stuck in East Anglia tomorrow, its my worst place!! (for the benefit of the US, East Anglia has shit roads!)
75deg? Shut up75deg? Shut up, ramsey!
Supposed to go to 85 deg here today. Too hot! ;-)
Good for you HilWil, it's 58F here and cloudy :\
It was at least sunny the previous couple of days, but not much warmer. Still, the coal in the little stove is doing a great job of keeping the house warm :)
See my last comment. That's the current outlook for me today, some 7months later.
RJ, take a look here for info on the brook :) http://snaps.snapsoid.com/~Wheres_Noah_when_you_need_him!!!_
I hope things improve in your area soon :)
Reached almost 75deg F for me today. Sun was shining and just a light breeze. Possible rain tomorrow evening.
JC - just saw that they have flood warnings for your area. I think you said there was a stream on your property. Does it ever give a problem? I hope you stay dry!
This weather is not unheard of in March, but is unusual. And unwelcome!
With whiteouts and slick roads, there were over 60 accidents in the county yesterday. Just heard that one of them was a friend :( He and his daughter are OK, but his truck isn't
I had always wondered where frozen fish came from. Now I know!! ;)
Is it usual to have these sorts of tempertures at this time?
JC - Yep - the old furnace is doing a fine job, and I've lots of oil! I saw 1° last night, and it is 5° now at 5 PM.
The lake freezes over in sections. The East branch froze over weeks ago and the ice fishermen have been out on it for 3 or 4 weeks. (Where did you think they get frozen fish?) Our West branch has been frozen for a couple of weeks. I don't know about the South branch.
It will be spring in 2 weeks! Or so they say.
RJ, that's cold!! Is the lake frozen over? Keep safe & warm :)
Hey, Snapsoid friends - Hop a plane and come out to my place to enjoy the nice March weather! 0 to -5° F tonight, with wind chill down to -20. (That's -18 to -23°. Wind chill -29 on the senseless ~oh sorry, Celsius~ scale!)
Drifts and whiteouts caused multi car pile-ups and cars in the ditch all day long in our little rural county which has no major highways at all.
Thanks Nani, we didn't get as much as you did though! Yes RJ Snow is cool :)
Nani, I believe that all snow pictures would be classified as "cool". ;-]
I smoke cigarettes......gosh, what a GAG, I have habits....I WILL get cancer, (wow what a surprise), but in the meantime, me tiiks I will enjoy dis life :)
At this point anyone qualifys, seeing that SeaFox won't take me up on the offer. LOL
How about the "but thats extra!!!!" bit? Do you have a price list nikkie, and if so, do we qualify for a 'snappy save'?? ;-)
I love the snow, but it's too damn cold. I want to go where there's a beach, so I can go diving. In April I'm going to Flordia to do some diving, SeaFox, would like to join me? ;) We can even do some muff diving, but that's extra. LOL!
...I had to laugh yesterday when I went to get my normal food shopping. People had been panick buying as snow was expected and the shelves were empty of bread completely :D. Were only expecting a few inches for a couple of days!!!
I did wonder how you were doing for snow. We've only got 2-3 inches here but it's all we've had this season. We don't much snow in uk really except in the high areas and up north.
JC and others - If you hear that there is 100 inches of snow in New York State, don't worry about old RJ! We've only had 3 to 4 inches total all year! They get the big snows east of Lake Ontario where moisture from the lake turns to snow - and it snows a lot! Why anybody would live in the "snow belt" is beyond my comprehension!
RJ, this is my back garden, which is actually to the side of my house :) This is not to be confused with the front garden (from the house to the lane), the front front garden (the bit just across the lane including my veggy plot) and the front front front garden (the open common land beyond my veggy plot which I don't own but I'm repsonsible for) :S
Looks good, JC! Your back yard? (or whatever you Brits call the area behind your house:)
You know, Crazy, now you got me thinking that your previous avatar was you....either case, how are you? ;-)
