One young couple I know asked for Home Depot gift cards. They too had lived together and had all the necessities of daily life.

Lots have suggested we set up a thing similar to the charity collection site that was 'race for life' but through a travel co. so guests can help pay for the honeymoon.

Cheers timbo. The list is going to be a bit tricky, as we've lived together for some time and have everything really. Cooking pans, toaster, kettle, pic frames, cutlery, plates....... Not sure what to do about the list. Any suggestions anyone?

We've set a date for the wedding! Paid the deposit and need to start saving every penny now, except for the ones needed for beer, vindaloo, holidays to Greece etc, apart from those, every penny! July 10, 2010. Sounds a millenium away, but its less than two years already!!

Around thirty years they were married until he was taken to soon, amazing. This generation can't make it 3 years!

Ah yes, its evenings like this when I realise why I love her. She's booked a holiday to malia with the girls next year, and I said I'm going to organise a trip to Budapest with some lads (Oddo & JC included!). Then she said she would like to go to Budapest too, because she'd like to see Thailand............

Move to California WoT. Minimum wage, or more, plus tips. Pursuant to California Labor Law it is unlawful for an employer to charge against an employee's wages any part of tips left for them.
here in th states the standard tip i 18 %... I expect 20% since I am a highly skilled server in an upscale restaurant... that explains it all! Servers here are only paid $2.83 or 1.81 EUR.... hate to sound snobby, but I don't give proper wine service for a wage like that.
i used to work as a bartender/waiter in a blues club for five or so years. i always give at least 10% no matter how the food or the service was. wife hates me for doing that :D
I think the standard tip is 10%, left as cash. I normally tip the waitress even if the food was average, as long as the service is good.
i gave about a 30% tip in a restaurant today. but, it was my parents' money, or else i wouldn't even have been in the restaurant in the first place.
I just had a bus of you people from across the pond for my second (and final) night back to work... will you please tell your friends that if they visit the states, they MUST tip their servers well, we don't make shit! I ran my ass off tonight for barely anything!!!! RARR!!! ;)
