My Magazine Cover

I figured since Porzel posted his sweet zombie magazine, I'd post the cover that I had to make a while back.

Sweet! I like the drop shadow, because it makes the pics seem like they are jumping out just to get your attention.. which getting noticed is what you want.
There has to be a spire/joint pchop in the future.
uhh, I don't remember exactly, but I got an A on every project. And my teacher is a total hardcore 80s fan, so MJ got a little leeway (although he sticks mostly to Iron Maiden and Billy Idol.)
no doubt they stand out. too bad about adding a michael jackson picture ;)
what grade did you receive?
see, I liked the drop shadows because I thought it lent a real modern, technological feel to the cover. This was done close to the release of the iPod Touch, and of course, there was also the iPhone. I wanted the cover to seem like you could pick it up, and then flick the photos around or flick them up to look underneath at the main photo - I wasn't really liking the traditional very flat, static magazine cover design that you almost always see (especially exaggerated in tabloids.)
drop shadows - i would say no. for a webpage, it's a nice touch, but probably not for print. in this particular case, i think the shadow is an interesting choice because the background is the sky.
page numbers for the articles is a nice touch :)
thanks v45, I actually learned some important new skills on this project while I was dealing with the white type outlines. Also, what do you guys think of the drop shadows? My teacher didn't really like them, so I wonder if anyone else has an opinion.
a fine, professional job. and not an easy task, i can see! :)

or hey - it does look just like a dildo. actually, Chicago has the only building that I know of that is not phallic, but instead.. uh... vaginallic? or something. You get the idea.
