Painted Turtle

The one named "Rocket" never bites and likes having his chin scratched. The 2nd named "jaws"... ...well you can guess.

I never knew they were also called Red-eared sliders, Einstein. Had to look that one up. Thanks for the knowledge! :)

Do turtles ever get to know a person well enough so as not to bite them. I've heard of 'pet' turtles but the owners have been bit occasionally.

Ah, a Red-eared slider. I have two of these monsters living in my house. Got 'em in Chinatown years back when they were the size of my thumbnail. Now their about 8'' and would make a good soup if I get hungry enough.

looks just like the turtle that was walking around my mom's parking lot, like a fish out of water in the hot sun, so I gently picked it up and took it right to the pond which her condo overlooks and let it go...man that was one happy turtle!
