The Fishin Hole

This particular hole was dyn o mite. It's located at the crossing of the river about 30 minutes from the cabin in the Rockies where I spent plenty of time during my youth.I remember one particular time when I had two flys on my line and got a bitet.I thought I had a monster only to pull up and see a fish on each hook. My excitement was laughed at for a few days. Dolly Varden, Whitefish, Grayling, and Lake Trout. All tasty in a fish fry.1 to 2 pounds, dipped in eggs, rolled in cracker crumbs, fry.

i've always wanted to try fly-fishing. unfortunately there is no water for that around here
It is my friend. The most fun is the 4 hour quad ride to get to it.

We use flys but not really 'fly fishing' the way you image. We use wet flys so they sink below the water surface a bit. You can see the fish dart at the hook with the water being so clear. They will lurk below the edge of the rock in the shade and then dart out at the hook. They hide in the shade because a 100 feet up stream is a gorge that the river funnels through so they are a bit shaken by the journey through it.
