I'm sure the Pope doesn't hate Bush. I'm also sure that the Pope hates Bush's policies toward the poor, the environment and Iraq. The two men agree on abortion and stem cell research. Problem for the Pope is that I read 60% of US Catholics disagree with his stand on abortion and same-sex marriage.

So, what should Bush have said? "Oh thou most sacred, divine and Holy Father, Thou hast uttered a notable, eloquent and meaningful discourse"?

I'm sure that only those filled with hate and bias against Bush would think his comment was inappropriate.

I do not believe that the Pope is filled with hate and bias against Bush - it seems to be more typical of those on the far left.
